This Mulberry Silk Charmeuse is suitable for:
Suitability depends on the design, desired opacity, construction method, and whether the fabric will be used alone or with a lining.
For best preservation of the fabric’s luster, color, and fluid drape, professional dry cleaning is recommended.
When washing is appropriate for the intended project, test a small swatch first. Hand wash gently in cold water using a mild, pH-neutral detergent formulated for silk. Do not bleach, soak, scrub, twist, or wring. Avoid detergents containing enzymes, optical brighteners, or fabric softeners.
Press out excess water gently with a clean towel and air-dry away from direct sunlight and heat. Iron on the reverse using a low silk setting and a pressing cloth.
If the finished item will be washable, test and prewash a fabric sample before cutting, as washing may cause shrinkage or alter the fabric’s surface and drape.

This 22 momme silk charmeuse is slightly more substantial than 16 or 19 momme, while retaining a fluid drape than the heavier charmeuse weights. Silk charmeuse is woven from 100% mulberry silk. It features a smooth lustrous face, soft-matte reverse, and graceful drape.
At 22 momme, the fabric has a medium, supple hand and fluid movement. It is lighter than the 25, and 30 momme silk charmeuse options in the Sylvie Silk collection.
